Our Termination Stud System is very easy to setup and install. Simply drill holes in your verticals for the cable to pass through. The termination cap pulls against the last vertical to tension. This system is very good for retrofitting existing rails to meet current codes. The termination shaft on the turnbuckle is available in different lengths to pass through various post sizes. (316 grade stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance).
Usage
Termination Studs are a very clean and cost effective method of installing and tensioning cable assemblies because they can be used with any type or style of post. Our standard termination stud turnbuckle can be used for up to a 2” OD post on a level or angle run. Rods are also available for 4”, 6”, 8” and 12” posts.
Add a -4, -6, -8 or -12 to any part number to specify width of post if wider than 2"

Post Hole Requirements
Your holes should be drilled to these diameters to allow clearance for our hardware. Please note: when using termination stud hardware you will need at least 4-1/2” of space at end post, to allow the cable assemblies to be installed. If you do not have this space, please refer to our confined space termination stud system.

Adjust-A-Ball (with counter bore)
Adjust-a-Balls are used with our termination studs for stair angle compensation. These half round balls allow for the cable to swivel to the proper stair angle automatically. Simply drill the proper hole and the ball will adjust to the proper position as the cable is tensioned.
Adjust-a-balls will fit up to 1/4” cable. Holes in the outside of the end posts must be drilled to 11/16”. If using a flat bar as your end post, you counter sink the hole to an 11/16” diameter
